More top executives flee Zurich Insurance

There is another exit at the top management level of Zurich Insurance. After Claudio Gienal's departure last December, the communications and  marketing head, Isabelle Welton resigned her management role in mid-March.

Only last November, Zurich CEO Mario Greco appointed Welton as Marketing Head. According to a company spokesperson Welton left the Zurich two weeks ago. The spokesman stressed that she had decided to change her job and left the company by mutual agreement. The departure of two members of the Executive Board in a short time as increases pressure on CEO Greco.

Mario Greco has been CEO for almost a year. Last year, strategy manager Claudio Gienal left the insurer abruptly. His successor, Giovanni Giuliani, was appointed fairly soon after.

"Departures in the management are part of the natural life cycle," commented the spokesperson and describes the fuss around the departure of Welton as "insignificant". Welton is no longer active in her Marketing function, but remains the company as a strategic consultant, according to the spokesperson.

Zurich Insurance have announced that they have already found a part-successor to Isabelle Welton. Francis Bouchard will assume the position of communications chief from July 2017. Bouchard previously worked for Zurich in communications and public affairs. In addition, the spokesperson said that a new management function would be created, which combines the areas of communication and public affairs and does not include any marketing activities. Zurich Insurance continues its search for a new marketing head.
