Novartis Greece – headquarters attacked

Early on Sunday morning the Greek anarchist group Rouvikonas threw paint and smashed windows at the entrance of the Athens headquarters of Novartis, police reported.

About 30 people were involved in the attack at 0515 local time (0315 GMT), a police official said. There were no injuries.

Rouvikonas claimed the attack was linked to a probe into allegations of bribery by Novartis to doctors and public officials, and the consequent destabilizing of the Greek health system.

Suishare hopes that Novartis has increased its security at all its facilities around the world, particularly heightened protection of employees, as this attack may inspire further attacks at other Novartis offices as other global groups act in solidarity with Rouvikonas.
