Swiss Life – Employees with foreign sounding names receive “Swiss” alias names

For better chances of a successful contract conclusion, the life insurer uses a “method” that is harshly criticized.

For contacts with its customers, the life insurance company Swiss Life provides employees with false names. This is to hide the immigration background of employees who are employed in the Swiss Life call center, the Swiss "SonntagsZeitung" writes.

Of 19 employees of the call center, 9 currently use a false name. The insurance company admitted to implementing this practice since 1996, even in the written communication with customers. Swiss Life argues that the use of a fake “Swiss” alias helps increase the chances of a successful conclusion of a customer discussion.

COMMENTS

  • Even the first customer contact may be based on a deception. Who wants to associate with such a partner? Especially in the financial sector.
  • If I sign a contract with a false name, surely this is fraud?
  • In the Swiss Life advertising, “trust”is a primary selling point!
  • A company I will gladly avoid in the future. Lies are definitely no basis for a good customer relationship.
